NALZS Ambassadors

Ambassadors are North Alabama Zoological Society members who put passion into action through nature education, wildlife conservation, community outreach, and grassroots fundraising.
Working shoulder-to-shoulder with NALZS staff, Ambassadors expand public engagement and momentum toward building the future zoo.

Anyone with a heart for nature. Students, parents, educators, retirees—no experience required. We’ll train you.
Some youth-facing roles may need a brief background check. If you can give a little time and enthusiasm, you’ll fit right in.

Make wildlife conservation and nature-based education visible and local:
• Run conservation clinics and cleanups
• Staff outreach booths
• Support school programs and talks
• Power our signature Kids Festival and other fundraising events
Ambassadors also lead grassroots fundraising events and serve as friendly Zoo Advocates across North Alabama.

Members get workshops, leadership opportunities, and occasional behind-the-scenes moments—while helping bring a North Alabama Zoo to life.
Meetings: Monthly, engaging Ambassador gathering (with hands-on learning)
Get involved: Lead teams and serve on committees for education, conservation, outreach, and events.
Dues: $60/year
